Prices on such items vary according to their quality. In the US there is such a variety that there are literaly 1000s of scale models on the market. Some of lower quality as low as 5$ up to 100$ for a real good collectable. Remote control planes and cares are the same I boutght an inexpensive plane one for my son at 40$ and cars for around 20$ but they have ones with full scale engines and such for up to 500. I would not suddgest the ones with full scale engines for someone who is overseas. My ex husband used to have one and they are constantly needing parts and special gas and if you do not have access to them you should stick to a childrens model. I would recommend rechargable batteries but than the power is different in different countries and we had to buy new chargers for the cars we bought for our nephues overseas because they could not be used in their country. It is very hard to estimate prices here because they can vary so much due to the slection available. You might want to go to a website and check out what you want. IF you are a child Walmart is throughout the US so you can go to walmart.com and pick out what you like. If you are looking for more high end you will need to do a search for stores in the area your dad will be visiting for hobby stores and then see if they have a web site.
