There are only two types of cars that come with certificate of authenticity that I have seen.
1) High end scale models, usually costing over $100 each, from the likes of Franklin Mint, Auto-Art, and other high-end die-cast companies. Sometimes lower end models by Ertl and such *might* come with a certificate, but not always. Usually losing the certificate on these don’t cause a dramatic drop in value like on the high end ones tho.
2) El-Cheapo scammers… usually advertising on TV or thru print ads with bogus claims of $80 and up value, yours for only $10! Truly collector quality die-cast do not need to make quality or value claims as they already have a big following.
