I have a red z28 convertable and looking for a diecast model car in it’s likeness. I’ve searched all the big name makers but so far, no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Depends on what scale you want. I have a 1991 hardtop camaro and a red 1995 camaro convertible in 1/64 scale. The 91 is Matchbox and the 95 is a HotWheels. Usually the makers of the bigger scale models make older muscle cars and the latest new stuff. you might try http://www.Maisto.com or Jada toys. Good luck!
